Breaking News: President Hosni Mubarak Resigns

February 11, 2011 - Former President Hosni Mubarak resigned Friday after long days of protests in the streets of Cairo. Protesters were on the streets since January 25 seeking change in their government. The dictatorship that lasted over three decades is now over and a new government is expected soon.
Former President Mubarak has already fled the capital with money and has relocated himself to a resort town in the Red Sea. His dictatorship collapsed after even more protesters went out to the streets of Cairo and other towns.

The people has finally achieved their main goal; to abolish that dictatoship and to change the government. The protesters are not protesting anymore but crying and chanting "Egypt is free!". It was reported that some protesters fainted or had a heart attack after hearing the joyful news of the collapse of the Mubarak Regime.

The power is currently being held by the military; an unusual thing for this country. In the Egyptian constitution if the president shall no longer hold the power the Vice President or Parliamentary Speak shall step in as the current leader. However in this situation the military is in charge of the country.

The military has also responded well to the news and has accepted their new role of temporary leaders. Their main goal is to calm down the people, to prevent deaths/injuries and to make sure nothing horrible happens.

President Barack Obama has congratulated the people of Egypt and has encouraged them to handle the situation carefully. He urges the people to make changes to the constitution and to develop a democratic government. He also adviced them to start a new set of rules where the people will be able to have more freedom and more basic fundamental rights. President Obama is hoping that the people will finally act right and start free democratic elections and abolish the dictatorship they held for over thirty years.

The people has finally achieved the goal and after 300 deaths they get what they wished for; freedom. ParkerPedia would like to congratulate the people of Egypt for this great effect on their wishes. We wish them the very best luck on electing a new government. We hope that democracy can spread into the region and set an example for countries still under a dictator rule.
