I think the war in Afghanistan is another Vietnam.  I think this because there are many similarities.  There are also several differences, but there are not as many differences as there are similarities.  The paragraphs below explain how the war in Afghanistan is like another Vietnam.  Read on to learn more.

 One of the many similarities is that the Vietnam War when on for a very long time.  Since the war in Afghanistan started it has been nine years.  Since the Vietnam War lasted twelve years the war in Afghanistan may very well become just as long.  Second in both wars the USA fought against poor and rural areas.  We have also had more advanced technology than the opposition in both of the wars.  Third of all the US fought (is fighting) on foreign territory, meaning that we have the disadvantage of not knowing the land we are fighting on.

 These are all reasons of how the war in Afghanistan may very well become another Vietnam War.  These have only been some of the similarities and there are still many more.  This is why I believe that the war n Afghanistan may become another Vietnam War.
