What was the worst impact of colonialism in Africa?

The worst impact of colonialism.

I believe that creating a culture of violence was the worst impact.  This happened because that's what the Europeans did and then that's all the Africans knew.  This caused many problems because even after the Europeans left the Africans still solved their problems using violence.  This caused many conflicts and disagreements. This is why I think that creating a culture of violence was the worst impact of Europeans colonizing Africa.

Worst Impact - Culture of Violence

The worst impact of European colonization was that a culture of violence was created.  The Europeans solved their problems in Africa through violence.  When the Europeans left Africa, the only way that the Africans knew how to solve problems was by violence.  That led to many problems for them later on.
In African countries, there was only one way they knew how to remove their leader from power. That would be to force him or her out of power.  Most of the first leaders were forced out of power.  Some of them were killed in the process, but nobody knew any other way.  There really wasn't any other way because there wasn't any voting.  If there was conflict between countries, they wouldn't just talk it out.  It would not end well at all.

Europeans impact on Africa. Good or bad?

Well, in some ways the impact of the Europeans was good and some ways it was bad. Lets start with the good. One way it was good was because it improved Africas economy ALOT. I mean to say, with out the Europeans, would they be selling the diamonds they now mass mine or would they be sqaubling over puny triable issues, such as religion. Another way that made it better is that they got introduced to the new world early on making the change easier. Such as, what would happen to them if they got introduced to the ways people run now day instead of 100 years ago? The last reason, (that I can think of) is that they got introduced to the Market economy. This helped them make money for themselves and there country.
Now, the bad stuff. One, they got all their resources taken away without getting payed. Then the Europeans gave them back but, in a "Fancier" way as products and maded them PAY for them! Two, they almost completely destroyed the African history, so when a scientist finds something out about Africa's history it's a "Great Dicovery". Three, they also almost completely wiped out Africa's main religion and imposed their own.
Now, I could'nt decide if the Europeans impact was good or bad, but i hope that from this information you can.
    Peace out,

Worst impact of colonialism in Africa

I think it was the bad jobs for low pay because these Africans were doing all the hard labor and got payed almost nothing for it.Then the Afrikaners got no labor jobs with high pay. So i think that Africans with bad jobs and low pay was the worst colonialism.

European Colonization in Africa

I think the worst impact European colonization had on Africa was that they didn't dived based on ethnic groups and religion they based it on what the land had to offer them. The people are used to being around others that believe in the same thing as them then all of a sudden Europe came and blended ethnic groups in a way they never have. The natives had been there for thousands of years and didn't like the way there were divided.  They had different beliefs and traditions and mixing them caused conflict and many deaths. It also led to racism which in turn caused many conflicts against the Europeans and even more deaths.

Europe's error in African colonization.

Europe made several mistakes in colonizing Africa.  However, i am inclined to believe that one of THE worst mistakes is NOT dividing up land based on ethnicity.  This is not a simple matter of appearance.  These ethnic groups have SEVERAL DISTINCT differences in cultural traditions.  When the land was divided and they were moshed together without respect to their culture, there was infighting.  Different ethnic groups participated in sorts of "miniwars" and skirmishes for parts of land.  This unconcern about land has also inspired revolt around the colonies.

Africa Divide by Ethnic Groups

I think the worest impact the europeans had on the africans is that they just these poeple are mine and this poeple are yours because they look diferent. They did not divide them by their religion but by their ethnic groups because just because thry are of the same race does not mean they have the same religion or belief so they well not be getting along because they are making them work together. So soon they be having roits and fighting all over . That is why  I think that is the worst impact on South Africa.

Divided by Ethnic Groups

The worst impact of colonialism in Africa is that they divided people by ethnic groups. I think it's the worst because you may be the same ethnicity, but you may have different beliefs. Which causes a problem. It starts an argument. You may believe in this God and the other may believe in a different God. It's not good to do this. A lot of people would hate to have to live with the people they aren't like. They want to be with the people they share common intrests with. I know I wouldn't like it.

The Worst Part? Division that wasn't based on ethnic groups.

When Europe divided Africa at the Berlin Conference, they did not take into mind that some ethnic groups dislike each other, and instead colonized willy-nilly, which created conflicts between the ethnic groups that disliked each other. All Europe wanted from Africa were marketplaces, resources, bragging rights, and to spread Christianity. If two enemy ethnic groups happened to wind up in the same border of a colony, the leaders of the colony would try to order them to to be peaceful, and conflicts would occur. Mass violence and riots broke out, which killed may people and decreased Africa's population. Only 2 countries maintaned safety from the colonization, Liberia and Ethiopia.

This is why Europe should have taken more consideration into dividing countries. All they cared about was the money they could make, so they just jumped on the chance to make money without a second thought.

The Division of Ethnic Groups

We all know about the bad impacts of colonialism in africa, but the worst one well personally i think that the division of people not based on ethnic groups was the worst one. When the Europeans came to africa the they split all of the African's up not based on ethnic groups which caused conflict between many African's. Some African's did not know how to deal with this seperation which made the conflict worse.
Many countries had different ways to deal with then division some with conflict and some with political solution, but over all i think the political solution was a better way to gain independence.
