In my opinion the biggest problem that colonialists brought to Africa is that they were not divided based on ethnic groups. When the Europeans came to Africa and took over they distributed the land and barriers so that they did not match the ethnic groups. The ethnic groups include the white people and the black people. Because of this the Black people were discriminated greatly by the white people there. When the Africans were split up they were forced to live in the same country as a different ethnic group which you could potentially hate causes a lot of problems. This caused riots and mass violence in the countries. This would make most of these countries very weak. These countries are now more likely to have a civil war making them even weaker. This could also lead to corruption in the government because of the different ethnic groups. That is why my opinion of the worst impact of colonialism in Africa is that the people were not divided based on their ethnic groups. |
