Europe made several mistakes in colonizing Africa. However, i am inclined to believe that one of THE worst mistakes is NOT dividing up land based on ethnicity. This is not a simple matter of appearance. These ethnic groups have SEVERAL DISTINCT differences in cultural traditions. When the land was divided and they were moshed together without respect to their culture, there was infighting. Different ethnic groups participated in sorts of "miniwars" and skirmishes for parts of land. This unconcern about land has also inspired revolt around the colonies. |
