There were many effects of colonization in Africa, but I think that the thing that affected Africa the most was that it wasn't divided based on ethnic groups. The countries won't work well, violence between them, and racism happened. The countries wouldn't work well, because of the ethnic groups having different languages and histories. Being in a country with different people that you dislike would make you mad. The ethnic groups wouldn't agree with each other, because of their different cultures. They might also use violence to be the dominant ethnic group. Violence lead to many unnecessary deaths and havoc in Africa. The population would also decrease from the violence. The violence would also carry on for many years and never end. The ethnic groups would never be friendly and Africa would never be a peaceful place. Racism is a big thing throughout the world and it is very bad in Africa. The countries not being divided by ethnic groups added to that. One race having more rights than others added to the violence. It also would lead to riots and protests. As you can see, ethnic groups should have been put into their own countries, but this didn't happen and there were many consequences. |
